MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani, and Diljit Dosanjh starrer Good Newwz has hit the theatres today and is gaining love from the audience and critics all over. The film has been receiving rave reviews from the media, but amidst all this, the film has hit a roadblock.
According to the reports, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Karnataka High Court seeking a stay by a Mysuru-based NGO Yes Trust. The PIL claims that the film is misleading people and making them question the credibility of IVF centres.
If reports are to be believed, the petition says that since the film is about two couples who are struggling to have a child through IVF treatment, it will create a lot of confusion and uncertainty about the credibility of IVF treatment. This can cause emotional disturbance for the childless couples.
The petition also claimed that the film shows an IVF company called Indira IVF and the company already exists. The petitioner has called it a ‘wrong product placement’. The petitioner has also named the Central Board of Film Certification as a respondent.
The film is directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Karan Johar.
