All of a sudden Arushi murder case is in prime demand in Bollywood. Already two films believed to be have been inspired from the infamous case are gearing up for release, one being Manish Gupta’s Rahasya and the other one being Meghna Gulzar’s Nyoda. Manish has already vehemently denied his film being a take on Aarushi’s case. The director calls it a work of fiction and any resemblance to any real life incident is only a mere coincidence. The facts have also been tweaked mainly the age of the girl murdered in the movie being 18 and not 14 as was in Aarushi's case.
Kay Kay who essays the lead role of the police officer investigating the murder case too believes the movie is purely a work of fiction. When we asked him his take on Aarushi murder case and the unfailing similarity with the movie, Kay Kay said, “I haven’t followed the case so I would not be able to comment on it. But this I can assure you that Rahasya is not based on Aarushi’s case or any other real life story. Such incidents can happen anywhere in the world and it is not right to say that this story is inspired. The movie is based on a fictitious plot.”
The actor whose performances have always been lauded will be seen essaying the male lead role in the movie for a change after long. When asked if lead role is what he enjoys doing, the talented actor said, “I enjoy doing characters. I have played many different characters in my career and that is what I look forward to doing. I don’t differentiate roles into lead and supporting ones.”
While Kay Kay plays the cop in this movie, it’s Irrfan Khan who is donning the khakee in Meghna Gulzar’s movie. When asked about comparisons being drawn, Kay Kay said, “We both have our own different styles and approaches when it comes to acting.”
Apart from Kay Kay, the movie also stars Tisca Chopra, Ashish Vidyarthi and Mita Vashisht. The movie will release on 30 January 2015.
