MUMBAI: Director Ayan Mukerji is all set to return on the sets of his fantasy superhero film Brahmastra's set with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt for the last shooting schedule in the city. Post it, it would reportedly be a wrap on the ambitious project.
Much awaited and much talked about film of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt is Brahmastra which is helmed by Ayan Mukerji. The release date of it was announced last year in February after 2 years of shooting. However, owing to the pandemic post it, the shooting of the film was halted and once again, the release was pushed. Now, as per a report, Ranbir and Alia may apparently kick off the final shooting stint for the patchwork of Brahmastra before wrapping up the superhero flick.
As per the reports, Alia and Ranbir are all set to reunite on sets of Brahmastra for one last time from February 18 in the city. The report states that an elaborate set is apparently being erected in Kandivali studios in the city where Ayan is all set to go behind the camera to finish his ambitious project. The report also claimed that amid the pandemic, the director and his team pushed the VFX and post-production work of the portions already shot.
As per the sources, Ayan had almost completed filming the superhero drama, in keeping with the December 4 release date. While he utilised the lockdown to speed up the VFX work and editing, a small portion remains to be shot." Further, the source also mentioned the date on which the final leg of the shoot will begin in the city. The source added, "The production design team has a week to build the set in the Kandivali studio before Ayan begins shooting on February 18. He has chalked out a week-long stint with the leads, post which it will be a wrap for the project."
Meanwhile, the shooting was going on in March 2020 when the lockdown was announced. The film's logo launch also took place back in 2019 when Ranbir, Alia and Ayan headed to Prayagraj to launch the logo with 150 drones. Since then, fans have been looking forward to the film. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy and is part 1 of the trilogy. It is produced by Karan Johar.
