MUMBAI: Recently, several actors have commented on how important networking opportunities Bollywood parties provide for professionals in the industry, such as directors, producers, actors, and other important figures.

Interacting with prominent figures within the industry can lead to new prospects, and personal connections frequently result in joint ventures. After Parineeti Chopra, actor-director Randeep Hooda has discussed how these events are intended to talk about work and make friendships.

The actor admits “party toh bahot karte hain, par ab apne ghar pe karte hain (he parties hard, but only with his friends and at home),” described how, early in his career, he would get drunk at Bollywood parties and talk nonstop rather than forming relationships that would lead to new projects in a recent interview with the well-known entertainment portal.

“I would attend a lot of these parties in the beginning. Mujhe bahut baad me pata chala ki yeh to networking parties hoti aur main wahan party karne jata tha” (I realised much later that people attended these parties to build network. I just went to party). “Pata nahin kis ko kya bola hoga?” (I treated them like real parties, got drunk, and talked my mouth off),” he shared.

The Swatantrya Veer Savarkar actor reminisced how people from the industry, in a quest to land a project, would look for an opportunity to interact with influential people.

“I later realised that you’re not supposed to do that. You just have to hold a drink in your hand, exchange pleasantries, and talk about who is working on what project. Hum toh do teen taka tak laga lete the aur kisko kya bola woh toh Ram jaane?” (I would quickly chug down two-three drinks. God knows what I may have told them at the party).

“Bollywood parties are just networking parties and not real parties because you party with your real friends who you’re comfortable with,” he said.

Randeep had already revealed in a previous interview with Siddharth Kannan that he went to the meetings just for fun. “I went to party, not to make connections. Sometimes I would party a little too much. I wish I knew how to play the game when I was younger. But it doesn’t come naturally to me,” he said.
