It should be noted that there have been several rumours suggesting that the film may be postponed or even cancelled. According to media sources, there is a conflict between Prasanth Varma, the director, and Ranveer. Finally addressing Rakshas, the producers have announced that the film has been shelved due to the actor and director's separation. The team said in an official statement that they decided together that now is not the right moment for this initiative.
As per the statement shared by Vamsi Shekar, "Recently, rumours have been going around that the film Rakshas which was said to be directed by Prasanth Varma and headlines by powerhouse Ranveer Singh - the duo, decided to part ways on the project due to creative differences. Amid speculations from various industry sources, the makers and actors have now cleared their stance and addressed the ongoing developments. Prasanth Varma, Mythri Movie Makers and Ranveer Singh have now clarified with their official statements. Talking about it, Ranveer Singh mentioned, "Prasanth is a very special talent. We met and explored the idea of a film together. Hopefully we will collaborate on something exciting in the future". Prasantth Varma said, "Ranveer's energy and talent is rare to find. We shall manifest our forces combining soon sometime in the future"".
It goes without saying that the supporters are devastated by the news. Ranveer will next be seen in the prominent roles of Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Deepika Padukone in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. In addition, he is getting ready to become a father because his wife Deepika is expecting their first child, which is due in September of this year.
