MUMBAI: In a recent interview, Raveena Tandon talked candidly about turning down a movie project starring Shah Rukh Khan. She explained to Filmfare why the Shah Rukh project didn't work out. She disclosed that she had given up on the film after talking about her outfits in it, but she did not disclose the title of the film or any other information.

Raveena said, “It (the film) was with Shah Rukh Khan and I had almost signed it till the time came to discuss the costumes. The costumes were really weird. It wasn’t something I would be comfortable wearing. I thought it was a little too objectifying. I said, ‘No sorry, I can’t.”
Shah Rukh was also lauded by Raveena, who described him as one of her "wittiest, warmest, and gentlemanly co-actors." She gave Shah Rukh an explanation for her decision to withdraw from their previously mentioned movie, citing her inability to wear the "strange" clothes.
She further said, “SRK (Shah Rukh Khan) said, ‘Are you mad? Why are you saying no now?’ because we were already doing a film with the most amazing music called Jaadu. And we were doing Zamaana Deewana and we really used to get along. SRK is one of the wittiest, warmest, and gentlemanly co-actors to work with. He is decent to the core. And I told him I can’t wear that stuff... 'I'll feel funny, I'll feel strange'”

Shah Rukh and Raveena collaborated on the 1995 movie Zamana Deewana, but the former has previously discussed how the two had lost possibilities to work together. According to Raveena, she was offered the role of Juhi Chawla in Yash Chopra's Darr, but she turned it down since she didn't feel comfortable in certain of the scenes. Shah Rukh played an important role in Darr, where he played an anti-hero who was struggling with mental health difficulties.
