She did not, however, respond to the call; instead, she issued a communique to the Central agency explaining that her obligations outside the nation prevented her from personally appearing. Nonetheless, she stated in the communiqué that she wanted to work with ED to the fullest extent possible during the latter's inquiry. She further informed ED that she would be available for in-person questioning at any time in the future.
According to sources, the ED officials decided to issue the actress with a new notice and give her a reasonable amount of time to appear for questioning at the Central agency office after receiving the actress's communiqué.
According to sources, Sengupta's name came up while ED officers were looking through paperwork pertaining to one of the accused in the ration distribution case.
She will be questioned about her connections to certain transactions that came to light during the investigation of the accused's file.
