MUMBAI: At the recent L'Oréal Paris event that raised awareness of street harassment, actor Shefali Shah, who rose to popularity as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi in the Netflix series Delhi Crime, was present. Shefali described how she dealt with it when she was a very little girl in an interview.
She told, “I remember when I was really young, and in the market, coming back from school, I faced it. And I couldn’t do anything about it. I was too young and I was just scared and no one stood up. I mean, it was crowded, but that’s not a justification but I guess almost women have somewhere dealt with it.”
Shefali is currently overcome with joy after learning that she has been nominated for a prestigious International Emmy Award in 2023, specifically in the category of Best Performance by an Actress for her work in Delhi Crime Season 2. She shared, "I am filled with excitement, completely overjoyed, and I feel like I'm on cloud nine. This recognition means a great deal to me, and I'm still trying to grasp the enormity of it.”
Tanuj Chopra was the series' director, and Rasika Duggal and Rajesh Tilang both had significant parts. 'Delhi Crime Season 2' was created by a partnership between SK Global Entertainment, Golden Karavan, and Film Karavan and was based on actual occurrences. The focus of the first season of the program was the Delhi Police's tenacious pursuit of justice following the infamous Delhi gangrape case of 2012. It is noteworthy because it created history by being the first Indian online series to win an International Emmy.
Shefali is famous for her extraordinary talent in a variety of roles and personas. Audiences have been mesmerized by her fascinating on-screen presence and superb performances in shows like Jalsa, Human, Darlings, and Doctor G, among others.
