Sonam Kapoor who has become the first Bollywood celebrity to fall prey to the dreaded swine flu was yesterday air lifted from Rajkot to Mumbai for further treatment. The actress who caught the virus while shooting in Gondal for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo was initially admitted to Sterling Hospital. However, her folks felt it was best to bring her back to Mumbai for faster recovery.
Dr Kamal Parikh, medical director of Sterling Media was quoted telling the media, "Sonam Kapoor, who was being treated at the Sterling hospital for swine flu infection has been taken to Mumbai today by an air-ambulance."
Sonam's mother accompanied her back to Mumbai where the actress was immediately wheeled into Kokilaben Hospital for further treatment around 11 am yesterday morning. The actress was seen wearing a mask around her mouth.
Sonam reportedly had difficulty in breathing and had fever with sore throat. For the moment, she has been kept in an isolation ward and even family have not been allowed inside. As per latest reports, Sonam is stable and recuperating well. She will be in hospital for a week's time.
Meanwhile, all other members of the shooting crew including Salman Khan also underwent tests for swine flu. Thankfully, they turned out to be negative.
