MUMBAI: Maddock Horror Comedy Universe started with the release of Stree featuring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee Aparshakti Khurana and some more. The movie was directed by Dinesh Vijan and released in 2018.
The movie introduced the audience to the genre of horror comedy in the best way and garnered a huge amount of love from the audience. Soon there came some more movies like Bhediya starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, Roohi starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor and previously released Munjya starring Abhay Verma, Sharvari and Mona Singh.

Now we have Stree 2 that has taken over the audience completely. When the trailer of the movie released, it received huge appreciation from audience as it looked like everything that the audience were waiting for and a little more. Though the movie released on 15th August, the makers planned to keep special shows on 14th August for fans starting from evening.

On its opening day, the movie collected around Rs 60 Cr. On Wednesday, for the special shows, the movie collected around Rs. 8.35 Cr. It is worth noting that the movie has broken opening collection records of Pathaan, Kalki 2898 AD, Animal and Thugs Of Hindustan.
Stree 2 had an outstanding week with collections that are proof of all the hype there was and is for the movie. On day 9, the movie collected around Rs 17.5 Cr India nett. It has collected around Rs 441 Cr worldwide which is amazing as the movie entered the 100cr club right on its second day, crossed Rs 200 Cr mark too and right on 5th day, its first Monday the movie entered 300 Cr club. On 6th day, the movie crossed Rs 250 Cr mark India nett. After its first week, the movie crossed 400cr worldwide collection mark.
