Twenty nine years after veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai made Hero that marked the debut film of Jackie Shroff, it is learnt that he is currently negotiating with a number of leading South Indian producers to have his films like Karz (1980), Karma (1986), Aitraaz (2004) and Hero remade in Tamil and Telugu.
When we spoke to Ghai about the same, he softly replied, “Yes, we are in talks for the remakes of our films, but it’s too soon to come out with any details.” Looks like, he wants to talk about it only after everything is finalised.

In fact, an insider in the production informed us that Ghai is in the final stages of talks about these remakes. And he wants only the best makers to bag the rights. His company will be part of these productions and it could mark the company’s first foray into South Indian cinema.
If things go according to plans, the remakes would hit the floors by mid-2013.
