MUMBAI: Alka Yagnik is a well-known singer of Bollywood. The talented singer has sung more than 2000 songs in her long career span in 16 languages.
The diva has crooned for many well-known actresses of Bollywood and her songs have been chartbusters.
Fans simply adore Alka's voice and have appreciated her for it.
Alka has gained a lot of fame over the years but her personal life has been extremely private.
We all know that Alka is married and also has a daughter. However, we haven't spotted the singer with her husband often.

Well, there's an interesting story behind it.
Alka got married to Shillong-based businessman Neeraj Kapoor in the year 1989. It's been more than a decade that Alkais married.
But not many are aware that Alka and her husband Neeraj are living separately ever since then.
Alka had met Neeraj in 1986 in New Delhi. Neeraj was the nephew of Alka’s mother’s friend.
Alka and Neeraj stayed in constant touch after she met him in New Delhi. Neeraj made it a point to visit Alka’s residence if he visited Mumbai during his work trip. Their friendship grew for over six months and that is when they decided to take their relationship to next level.
After two years of their relationship, they felt the need to take things for a long-term commitment. In the year 1988, the duo decided to take things to their families. Their families were concerned about their different careers and the physical distance between the two. However, they took the plunge and got married in 1989.
Alka stayed in Mumbai and Neeraj lived in Shillong. The same year, they were blessed with their only daughter Sayesha who stayed with Alka.
In her several years of marriage, Alka was a single mother due to their career choices. However, this didn't affect their relationship. Baring the distance, the duo made it a point to stay as husband-wife. While Neeraj would visit Mumbai in fixed intervals, Alka would spend a month in Shillong every year to spend some time together as a family.
In one of her interviews, Alka had mentioned, “Neeraj even tried to launch a business in Mumbai. But he is this simple small-town guy and he got cheated of a huge sum of money. So I told him that he should go back to Shillong and not let his business there get affected.”
The duo's marriage also hit the rocks and they completely distanced each other for about 4-5 years but later, realised they are inseparable even after distances but later reconciled.
It's been more than two decades, Alka and Neeraj are still together with no regrets absolutely about their married life.
