MUMBAI: Sanjay Dutt has been making his mark even in South movies and now he is coming back to Hindi cinema with the upcoming movie ‘The Bhootnii’. The announcement of the movie took the audience by surprise. Fans were really excited to see Mouni Roy and Sanjay Dutt in the teaser.
The cast of the movie includes Navneet Malik, who gained major recognition after his performance in The Freelancer. The series was released in 2023 starring Mohit Raina. Navneet Malik impressed everyone with his performance and is ready to once again impress us all with his upcoming movie ‘The Bhootnii’ where he will be seen playing the younger version of Sanjay Dutt’s character.
When asked about the struggles faced by outsiders in the industry, Navneet Malik revealed challenges faced in breaking the typecasting system and said, "Sometimes it feels like no matter how hard you work or how much talent you bring to the table, if you're not from a big film family, you're not seen as a hero. You're either the villain or just there as eye candy. It's disheartening because all we want is a fair chance to show what we can do. I didn’t come here to play labels—I came here to play roles that matter,"
When talking the roles he has played up until now, he expressed his gratitude and said, “I’ve mostly gotten great characters, and while I’m genuinely grateful for every single opportunity that has come my way—and the ones that are coming—every character has helped me grow, every set has taught me something,”
He talked about getting out of the mould and said, “But I also carry this quiet hope within me. The hope that one day, someone will trust me with a lead role. Not just for the title, but to prove my mettle, to explore deeper stories, and to show a side of me that people haven’t seen yet.”
He added, "I didn’t come into this industry just to stand in the frame. I came to live stories, to lead them. I know what I bring to the table, and I know I can shoulder a project as the lead.”
Talking about the upcoming movie, Navneet Malik said, “It’s an incredible opportunity to bring Sanjay Dutt to life on screen, and I’m truly honored to play such a legendary figure,”
The movie stars Sanjay Dutt, Mouni Roy, Sunny Singh, Palak Tiwari, Beyounick, and Aasif Khan. The movie is directed by Siddhanth Kumar Sachdev and will hit the theaters on 1st May.
