"The budtameezi was worse than you can imagine," director Prawaal Raman relives the nightmare on location in Udaipur

Director Prawaal Raman
A handcuffed Randeep Hooda watched helplessly as Pooja Bhatt was abused by a police officer in Udaipur. By now reports of the ugly situation that transpired between Pooja Bhatt’s unit and the Superintendant Of Police of Udaipur during the shooting Prawaal Raman’s Bad have already made the rounds. Director Prawaal Raman shocks by revealing the incident to be far murkier than it seems. Recalls the horrified director, “We had got all the required permissions to shoot in the Udaipur Collectorate. The SP of Udaipur Hariprasad Sharma arrived. No one from our unit recognized him as he was in plain clothes. He was asked to wait as Pooja and I were in a shot. The Police Officer couldn’t digest the thought of waiting. He barged upstairs where we were shooting and hit a camera assistant and a lightman and abused us all. Pooja stood in front of him with folded hands pleading for him to calm down. But the Police Officer abused her and threatened to arrest me.” Tragically Randeep Hooda who plays Charles Sobhraj watched helplessly as he was handcuffed for the scene. Prawaal says the matter stands far from closed. “Shooting resumed immediately after the ugly incident. And the errant police officer apologized. But he was on television the same day claiming nothing had happened. How can a government officer who was supposed to provide us security behave in this way? We aren’t taking all this lying down. This has happened too many times in the past to other units. We want more dependable security for units shooting outside Mumbai.”
