The Barjatyas’ detective flick Samrat & Co has come and gone without creating any ripples. But Rajniesh Duggall is still smarting under the blow of watching his important scenes chopped just days before release.
Opening up on the sensitive subject for the first time he says, “I really don’t know what happened, or if I should even talk about it. I was playing a grey character and I hoped justice would be done to my presence. But somewhere my trust was broken.”
Rajniesh says his important scenes were chopped off. “The important scenes through which my character was built were gone. And the weirdest thing was, I had dubbed for those scenes. But when I saw the film for the first time at the trial screening those scenes were missing.”
Rajniesh says he was upset when he saw what had been done. “I didn’t want to bring it up. But after the film and specially after winning Fear Factor I started getting a lot of messages asking what I was doing in the film. I don’t blame people for wondering what I was doing in the film. Going by what remained of my role even I am wondering the same.”
Rajniesh says there was a very crucial telephonic scene whose absence specially irked Rajniesh. “I was so upset I didn’t want to get up from my seat at the trial screening. We had all worked so hard on the film. After seeing what had been done to my role my morale hit the ground. Luckily for me my win on Fear Factor happened. I regained my confidence fast enough.”
Rajniesh hopes to do a good action film after Fear Factor. “Producers know what I am capable of. They’ve seen me do live action.”
