Pakistani actress Veena Malik, who is also making waves in India, is featuring in a Dutch documentary that focuses on the troubles that the Islamic women have to go through, in everyday life.
It also focuses on the age old clash between old religious customs and traditions, and modern day practices.
The yet untitled documentary that has been shot in Qatar, India, Turkey, Morocco, Egypt, London and Holland, comprises of six episodes. One episode focuses on Veena Malik, the only Pakistani ever to work as a representative for the World Health Organization. During her tenure, she worked there for two years and campaigned for Polio Awareness throughout Pakistan.
It features many important women from the Islamic culture. It is set in one of the most remote areas and locations of the countries.
During her brief stint in India, she has also volunteered to help many children by providing them shelter homes. Interestingly, she is even a sponsor-mother to Payal Kamble an 11 year old, who happens to be a victim of the sex trade.
