After the commercial success of his erotic thriller Hate Story, Vivek Agnihotri is back in action, this time exploring a new genre of political and historic thriller with his new film titled Freedom to be produced under his banner Durgamaaya Productions.
The film deals with the underbelly of Delhi and will be based between the period of ‘70s to 2000. The film will have a realistic and a rustic take along with various dramatic elements unlike the usual commercial cinema.

Buzz is that the entire cast of the film will undergo rigorous training for a month before the shoot begins. Vivek is planning to conduct workshops in Delhi where the actors (the names of whom are yet to be revealed) will be confined to a room so that they can get into the skin of the characters they play.
The political thriller promises to give a blow-by blow-account of modern-day India during the last three decades beginning from the time of Emergency in 1975 by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi till date, a source said.
The gripping story of Freedom that will go on floors in October this year has been penned by Agnihotri himself while the screenplay has been written by Rohan Malhotra and the filmmaker.
