When Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Kapoor expressed her wish that her husband should have been cast in Ranbir Kapoor’s film Rockstar; Read on to know more!

MUMBAI : Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Kapoor have been seen frequently setting significant couple goals with their constant support for each other. Despite Shahid's prosperous career filled with multiple hit films, Mira reportedly said she wished he should have starred in Ranbir Kapoor's Rockstar.

On Karan Johar's chat show Koffee with Karan, Mira Kapoor was asked to pick a film she wished Shahid Kapoor had done during a rapid-fire round. She responded to the 2011 Hindi musical drama Rockstar without hesitation.

Rockstar almost never happened; Imtiaz Ali previously revealed to a well-known news website. The project was shelved for years, the story swirling around in small circles, but it never fully came together. That all changed when Ali ran across Ranbir Kapoor at a movie screening.

Though Ali initially approached Kapoor with a different script in mind, Kapoor was more intrigued by the story of Rockstar. So much so that he began passionately recounting the plot back to Ali during their meeting. This unexpected turn of events made Ali realize that Kapoor was the ideal choice for the role. When Ali asked if he wanted to take on the film, Ranbir eagerly agreed. The meeting ended with Ali promising to return with the script of Rockstar, now certain that Ranbir was the right fit to bring the story to life.

Imtiaz Ali is the director and writer of the film Rockstar, which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri in the key roles. Aditi Rao Hydari, Piyush Mishra, Shernaz Patel, Kumud Mishra, and Shammi Kapoor are among the talented supporting cast members. A. R. Rahman's soundtrack for the movie is a major factor in its appeal.

The movie portrays Jordan's (Ranbir) journey from an ordinary college student named Janardhan to a well-known yet troubled singer. His path, characterized by heartbreak and personal turmoil, highlights both his artistic achievement and his descent into self-destruction.

Shahid and Mira Kapoor tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Gurugram in 2015. In 2016, they welcomed Misha, a daughter, as their first child. Two years later, in 2018, they welcomed Zain, a son.
