MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar lives a life filled with no regrets. The actor has been in the Hindi film industry for more than two decades. If you are someone who does not have the patience to sit over dramatic jumpscares, watch any horror-comedy film by Akshay Kumar. The work of the actor makes one believe that he has no regret about the kind of content he believes in exploring. He made his debut in 1987 and has done an array of films in comedy, drama, and action. However, the 'Khiladi' actors' acting prowess cannot be beaten by anyone in Hindi cinema when it comes to doing horror comedy.
In Priyadarshan's 2007 hit film 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa', the star made a contemporary opening in the Hindi films horror-comedy genre. If you have seen the film, you will know that Avni (Vidya Balan) is mentally sick when she and her husband, Siddharth (Shiney Ahuja) visit the ancestral home of the latter. They face life-threatening situations which catches the interest of the lively psychiatrist Dr Aditya (Akshay Kumar) who is on a mission to know the truth behind the paranormal experiences. Akshay was so good in the film that he made it prove to his fans that he loves doing horror comedy roles. Dr Aditya was shown as someone who did exorcism as well as took medical steps to cure Avni from her illness who suffered from dissociative identity disorder.
The actor knows how to touch on topics on therapy with ease and shed light on mental health problems. Even in 'Laxmii', the star played the role of a character who is trapped by the spirit of a transgender. The social message in the film is that it criticizes orthodox social customs with satire. It also addresses the complex problems faced by the transgender community. Well, Akshay should keep doing horror comedy films and if the collaboration of the actor with Priyadarshan bankrolls, as per the latest update, the star will prove that no one can beat him in horror-comedy roles. The 'Khiladi' actor can manage emotions in this genre very well.
