MUMBAI: The Kapoor family is in a state of mourning after the sad demise of their respected family member Krishna Raj Kapoor. Several celebrities have visited their residence to offer their condolences to the bereaved family. However, Rishi Kapoor, the second eldest son of the Late Krishna Raj Kapoor, and his family were conspicuous by their absence.
Rishi had tweeted that he is taking a break to go to the USA for surgery. He had said, ‘Hello all! I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment. I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It’s been 45 years “plus” of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!’
As per media reports, wife Neetu Singh and son Ranbir had accompanied him for the treatment. This is the reason they couldn't be present when the last rites were being performed.
In Ranbir’s absence, his cousin sister Kareena Kapoor took the responsibility and helped her dad Randhir Kapoor (eldest son of Krishna Raj Kapoor) perform the rites. Ranbir's rumored girlfriend Alia Bhatt was also present.
In many of his interviews, Ranbir had claimed that he was very close to his grandmother, so it must have pained him and his father to not be present for the funeral. We wish Rishi Kapoor a speedy recovery.
