It’s an unofficial Bharat Bandh today because Sachin is on song in his last Test match. With all those who matter including Rahul Gandhi and Aamir Khan present at Wankhede stadium today, we are sure nothing else in the country can divert the attention of the mango people away from their TV screens.
Now with such a blockbuster match in progress, we wondered if there would be any takers for Bhansali’s magnum opus Ram-Leela. With odds stacked heavily against the movie given the fact that not a soul wants to give the match a miss, Ram-Leela may not open to full houses today. We spoke to a few trade analysts to get a clear perspective on how Ram-Leela will fare at the box-office. Well-known trade analyst Komal Nahata feels that the morning and afternoon shows will be less crowded owing to Sachin's match but he avers that the pull of Ram-Leela is so high that it will still do a massive business. “I see a dip of 5 per cent which is negligible. Overall in spite of Sachin playing well in his last match, I think Ram-Leela will fare extremely well."
Taran Adarsh too shared the same view as that of Komal." The morning shows could see less people trooping in but given the overall buzz of the movie and Ranveer and Deepika's chemistry, the movie will do very well at the box-office," concurred Taran.
Well, it remains to be seen who will win this battle.
