MUMBAI: In an era when award shows often get clouded by glitz and favouritism, ZCA 2025 emerged as a refreshing contrast, earning admiration for its integrity, transparency, and heartfelt celebration of Indian cinema. It was more than just a star-studded evening—it was a meaningful tribute to genuine talent, striking the perfect balance between merit and magic.
One of the standout qualities of this year's event was its unwavering commitment to acknowledging craft above celebrities. Even in the absence of a few big names, the awards were handed out with fairness and consistency. Shraddha Kapoor, who couldn’t attend the event, was honoured with the Best Actress Award for her gripping role in Stree 2. The film also bagged Viewers’ Choice Best Film, further cementing its place as a fan favourite. Producer Dinesh Vijan accepted Shraddha's award, praising her bold choice to support a genre-defying narrative.
Kartik Aaryan stood tall as one of the evening’s most celebrated names, clinching Best Actor Male (Jury) for Chandu Champion and Viewers’ Choice Best Actor for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Vikrant Massey shared the Jury honour for Sector 36, delivering one of the most critically acclaimed performances of the year. Another absentee - Kunal Kemmu- received the Best Debut Director award for Madgaon Express, while rising stars Nitanshi Goel and Pratibha Ranta took home Best Debut Awards for Laapataa Ladies, reinforcing ZEE’s commitment to fresh voices and emerging talent.
The ceremony was equally a celebration of showmanship. Rasha Thadani lit up the stage with a graceful and powerful dance tribute to Indian cinema’s legendary women, Madhuri Dixit, Bindu, and her own mother, Raveena Tandon. Ananya Panday created an emotional high point with a heartfelt surprise performance for her father, Chunky Panday, ending in a joyous duet to Main Tera Tota. Adding punch to the night’s entertainment, Tiger Shroff and Kartik Aaryan raised the energy with electric stage acts that had fans cheering nonstop.
In recognising both icons and newcomers with sincerity and style, Zee Cine Awards 2025 proved that real celebration lies in authenticity. This year’s show set a new benchmark for how accolades should be awarded—with heart, honesty, and respect for the craft.
