MTV Unplugged Season 2 to air from 3 November

The stage beckons, guitars tuned, vocal cords exercised and the musicians sound checked as the curtain rises on <em>MTV Unplugged Season 2</em> which premiers on 3 November, 8 pm onwards every Saturday.

Explaining what the new season has in store Aditya Swamy, EVP and Business Head, MTV India said, “This season has a wide variety of artists’ right from popular to independent and each of them has taken up the challenge of going Unplugged in their own unique way. On the show, you will get to see the biggest songs of our times being reinterpreted acoustically and presented in an all new format. Truly exciting for the artist and the viewer!!!” Adding, Bikram Basu, VP – Marketing for Pernod Picard India said, “MTV Unplugged is unique with its acoustics and boasts a fantastic artist line up. It’s a pleasure for Royal Stag, long embedded in the world of music, to come on as partners to a programme that is at the heart of music television.” This season MTV Unplugged brings you a staggering line-up of world renowned artists. For the very first time on world television, the God of Music himself, Oscar winner A R Rahman will present his popular songs unplugged. The musical icon will take you on a soulful musical journey like never before. He will perform his popular songs like 'YE JO DES' from Swades, ‘DIL SE’ from the movie Dil Se, he will showcase a debut of his unreleased Tamil song ‘NENJUKULLE’ and will also be reinterpreting an old classic song in his unique style. Many musical icons will perform in this season such as Shafqat Amanat Ali, who will entice the audience with his silken voice through the popular songs like ‘SAIYAN’ from Khamaj, Lucky Ali, will woo fans with his soulful voice with ‘TERE MERE SAATH’ from his album Sunoh. The talented Sunidhi Chauhan with her versatility and range will perform on hits like ‘UDI’ from Guzarish and ‘YAARIYAN’ from Cocktail. Kailasa, will leave you spellbound with their famous numbers ‘TERI DEWANI’ and ‘SAIYAN’ and Ash King will dole out his famous song ‘TE AMO’ from Dum Maaro Dum and ‘AUNTYJI’ from Ek main aurektu in its unplugged version. There is something for everyone this season and for the rock enthusiasts Indus Creed will perform songs like ‘PRETTY CHILD’ and their recent big hit ‘FIREFLIES’. While Agnee’s famous love song ‘AAHATEIN’ get’s a twist of a choir, adding a traditional flavor to it. The season will also feature 6 young and talented singers in a multi-artist finale episode, like MTV’s very own Ayushman Khurana unplugged on his song ‘PANI DA RANG’, Shalmalee Kholgade who will regale the audience with the latest hit ‘MAIN PARESHAN’, along with Arijit, Kamal Khan, Neeti Mohan and Aditi Singh Sharma. These amazing artists form a musical line-up of an amazing journey and steering them all in one direction will be the music producer of season 1, the critically acclaimed producer and drummer par excellence Ranjit Barot. As the new season kicks off MTV is amplifying efforts, making it easier for the fans to catch the season across various screens. The show will be simulcast with radio partner FEVER 104FM.
