My Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se stint was short but sweet - Preet Kaur

Preet Kaur
Actor Preet Kaur got back to acting after a maternity break recently with Zee TV’s Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se. Preet essayed the role of Sunanda, who was part of Chaitanya Chaudhary’s family. Though her tenure in the show was short, the actress had a very good experience of facing the camera yet again. Talking about her experience, Preet told Tellychakkar.com, “It was very difficult, trust me to be a mother, at the same time, take to the sets as an actor. I in fact took my daughter Heer to the sets every day. My husband Vishal (Nayak) and I made a conscious decision that when one of us is working, the other will be on a sabbatical. So when I took up this project, Vishal opted to stay away from acting so that we don’t neglect Heer of our love and attention. So Vishal also used to accompany me and Heer to the sets of Do Dil every day. In fact, everyone on my set started to feel that they should have cast Vishal in the same show (smiles).” So how did you manage to shoot for Do Dil with your kid on the set? “As I told you, Vishal was always there with Heer when I was giving my shot. Also, I had a maid with me who was present always with my daughter. Also, Film Farm crew was very supportive, and I enjoyed working with them. They gave me a separate room so that my daughter would have no disturbance whatsoever. Now after doing Do Dil, I do realize that I need to take care of many factors before I sign up for my next project. I will have to opt for a separate room, flexible working hours etc.” She further continued, “Overall, I had a good time working after a long time. Though my stint in the show was short, it was really sweet. And the best part is that I did not neglect my kid as a mother. I had a good time with my co-actors and the creatives on board. I am thankful to everyone for their support.” So what lies ahead for Preet? “Well, honestly speaking, I have become a little selective now. I will not take anything that comes my way. I am a mother first and then an actor. I am certainly on the lookout for roles, but I will have to accommodate my daughter too at the sets as she is still on mother’s feed. I don’t mind playing a mother to a five years old kid, but my character needs to be prominent. As long as the character is good, I am fine. I am not ready to stand like a property in the background without delivering any dialogues.” Way to go, Preet!!
