TV shows have time and again presented beautiful tales of the life of Lord Krishna. And playing his avatar with perfection has been some really talented actors. Tellychakkar.com decided to get in touch with some of the actors who made the character of Lord Krishna memorable.
Read on for a holy experience
Nitish Bharadwaj (Mahabharat (old) – I have always been a religious person, but playing Krishna’s character made me spiritual and philosophical. Today I am a firm believer of karma and feel that cosmic law is the connection that binds all animated objects in the world. There had been more actors playing Krishna after me, and I feel each one did it as per their own understanding. It would thus be unfair for me to even compare or judge any of them. These days I am doing a play Chakravyuh where I am playing Lord Krishna once again. And the response from the viewers has been completely positive. I am really having a great time enacting the role once again.
Swwapnil Joshi (Krishna) – Playing the character changed me in every way. It had been the biggest and most popular role so far. It was not just a TV show for me but a life changing experience. The show was watched by people across the world in spite of being from different caste, creed and religion. People tell me that they associate me with Lord Krishna’s character till date and that they see me in image when they think of the Lord. It is of course their goodness but the character for me is for keeps for it gave me a lifetime image. I don’t think I will ever want to do the character again for I feel what had been done was for the best, for people loved it a lot.
Dhriti Bhatia (Jai Shri Krishna) – I was so young when I played the character that I didn’t even realise I was playing such an important part. Today when I watch the videos and talk to my family and friends about it I really feel glad. The days from the show will always hold special to me. Last night we did a small pooja and also cut a birthday cake remembering Lord Krishna. Till date I get immense pleasure when people remember me as the young Krishna in the show. Through the character I learnt that you should never lie and always help others. Also most importantly one should never steal makhan (laughs).
Vishal Karwal (Dwarkadheesh-Bhagwaan Shri Krishna) – Playing the character for a year, it brought a lot of positivity in my life. Every time I used to go on the sets and get my dialogues, positivity would get in my life automatically. It has been one of the best characters that I have played till date and I would love to do something again on the same lines. Being a modern guy it was really difficult for me to get into the character initially and I really worked hard for it. With people having so much expectations from this character and I just could not go wrong with that. But thankfully I managed to get a hold of it and received appreciation from all and sundry.
Saurabh Raaj Jain (Mahabharat (new) –I consider myself blessed and fortunate playing Krishna. All the love and respect that people give it to me is actually their love for Lord Krishna. Things that I have understood while playing Krishna is no matter what situation you go through in life one should always keep a smile. That’s why you see him smiling in temples, calendars, paintings etc. I want to thank everybody associated with the Mahabharat team for making the show and the character as it is.
