Proud to be an 'outsider' in Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan was humility personified while celebrating his birthday. Dressed in black tees and jeans, SRK first greeted the sea of humanity that had gathered outside his palace residence, Mannat doing his trademark arm extensions which made everyone go weak in their knees before addressing the media that had assembled inside the plush lawns of the bungalow. Just one short of half century, the now 49 year-old star charmed one and all with his over powering charisma. Humbleness personified, SRK was modest while accepting well wishes and compliments on his birthday. From cutting multiple cakes to accepting gifts including a hand-knit sweater with the word 'actor' stitched on it from a media person, SRK humbly accepted all things good coming his way. "There is nothing else I can feel on my birthday except humility," said SRK and added, "I get so much love which I don't feel I deserve. I am just an actor and a small person. Infact, I feel sorry that the policemen are troubled during my birthday." SRK also reminisced about the days when guests were sparse in number to celebrate his birthday in the 90s. "I used to have just seven or eight people who used to celebrate with me during my birthday in my earlier days. Things have changed now but I still feel I am a small person." Though he is 49, SRK said that physically he has only been starting to feel good. "I don't know if you are supposed to have grey hair or more fat as you grow old. I am getting regressive," quipped SRK and wished for everyone in the nation to enjoy a life that he has lived. "I want everyone's life to be like Shah Rukh Khan," said the superstar. SRK who made it big on his own terms in the industry without the help of any godfather said that he is proud at being seen as an outsider. When we asked him if he would like to play his superstar self in any of his future movies, SRK said, “I am proud of fact that I am outsider. This industry is harsh at times. It loves you at one time and also can show you the door at times. There are lots of people in the industry who are responsible for who I am today. I also don't think I can play myself in any film because I don't think my personal life is that important that I would like to make it into a film. There are many other prominent personalities whose lives would be much more interesting. I am too small and have a long way to go. May be when I reach Mars, I would like to think about playing myself in a commercial film." Well, at the rate Badshah is moving ahead in his professional life, we are sure Mars won't be a far away destination for him to conquer. Long live King Khan!!!
