Choreographers to clash on Nach Baliye!

Dance based reality shows are cliché - after the war of the DJs, the latest battle on the telly is going to be fought by star choreographers, who are all set to pitch their skills against one another. Only, this war is going to be fought on their behalf by tellydom's hottest couples on Star One's new show, Nach Baliye, produced by Sol. Nach Baliye, which will air on the channel from 11 October, three days a week at 9 pm, will feature 'real life' celeb couples competing with each other to gain maximum time on the dance floor. Hosted by Shabbir Ahluwalia and Sangita Ghosh, the show is one of its kind reality show with celeb participation for the first time. Each couple has been assigned a choreographer to get their steps right - self confessed 'non-dancers,' the actors will need a lot of help, and they are ready to put their best foot forward! The rehearsals for the show have started in full force. Both the actors and their 'gurus' are ready to go all out to prove their mettle. Here's what some of the choreographers have to say about their star pupils! The celebs! Choreographers corner Delnaz and Rajiv Sailesh, who has choreographed these two, is a veteran of 15 years and has been assisting Farha Khan. He was also been part of the Star Parivaar Awards. "They are good dancers I just have to groom them. If they win, even my work will be appreciated, even I will be recognised," says Sailesh. Mansi n Rohit Mansi and Rohit have been made to dance by Kash and Shla, who have been working for the past six years. They have been part of the Sansui and Fiat Awards. "Rohit is quite good. Mansi used to cry in the beginning, she came alone for tutions and now she has completely changed. They are here to win and we have to change only some of our steps to help them out. We hope they win," sigh Kash and Shla. Mihir n Maninee Choreographed by Darren Das, the duo is all set to sizzle on the small screen. The choreographer, who has assisted Shiamak Davar, looks all ready to take the trophy home. "Maninee is a natural. But Mihir too is working hard. They complement each other and that's their positive point. I am taking this very seriously and so are they. It's a great experience!" says Darren. Rajeswari n Varun Rajeev, who wll help out Varun and Rajeshwari, has assisted Vaibhavi Merchant in Lagaan and Tum Jano Na Hum . "Rajeshwari is an excellent dancer, Varun is okay! I am not competing, but there is a lot of job satisfaction. I am loving it," points out Rajeev. Poonam n Manish Choreographers Danny/Savio/Kunjan have helped the two to refine their dancing skills. They have worked on the debut album of the Band of Boys and are all set to make their Bollywood debut with Kathputli. "Both of them can dance. They are fighters, willing to do put their best foot forward. This will not only showcase their talents but mine as well!" says Danny. The other couples being Supriya and Sachin (tutored by Al and Mel), Amit Sadh and Neeru Bajwa (by Alias), Sai-Shakti (Swarup and Biju), Shilpa and Apurva (by Jeet) and Parmeet and Archana (by Jasmin Oza). The fun doesn't end here. These stars will, for the first time, come on screen as themselves. "It is different from the saree clad shows that we are so used to doing. It's fun," says Poonam. This is a sentiment that is echoed by all the stars. "It's a great concept, and although I am sweating it out during rehearsals, I am enjoying every moment," says Maninee. The men however didn't seem very confident with their dancing skills (with the exception of Rohit Roy), but are ready to match their better halves every step of the way! The show will also provide an insight into the lives of the couples, making them appear more real and approachable - how they live, who are their families and friends, how they adapt to, all in all a never before peek into their lives beyond the glitz and glamour of the small screen. This is a start of sorts of reality shows that are different -- shows that are looking beyond the obvious. Sony's yet to be launched show, Paisa Bhari Padega, will now come as the second show this year that will have celebs as competitors. With this show coming in at 9pm from Tuesday to Thursday, the future of Bluff Master (Wednesday) and Dil Kya Chahta Hai (Thursday) seems to be in doldrums!
