I realised my singing dreams through Badtameez Dil: Suyyash Rai

We all know what a great actor and singer Suyyash Rai is. He will be seen exploiting his talents once again on TV with a powerful role on Star Plus’ Badtameez Dil (Saurabh Tewari Films). Playing Nissar, the best friend of Abheer (Pearl V Puri), the actor says this show is very different from normal fiction serials. “The way Saurabh Sir has projected this tale is just out of the world. It is not a regular show and the creativity is at a different level. We keep on talking about bringing a change, and here is the change that will just light up the TV screens.” The actor, who had to choose between Nach Baliye and Badtameez Dil, says that it was his love for music that made his choice easier. “I got calls from both the production houses in a span of ten minutes. I was in a mess but then I spoke to my friends in the industry who suggested that I take up this show as reality shows are forgotten, but with such a fabulous show and character, I have an opportunity to leave my mark.” Suyyash will also be seen singing for his character. “It has been my dream to sing in a setup like the Coke Studio. And when I was given the opportunity to sing for my character, I jumped at the offer. The first time I crooned, I got goose bumps! This show has definitely made me realise my singing dreams,” he says. Talking more about his character, the actor adds, “Nissar is a very positive person who loves his friend dearly. He is from a middle class family and works hard to fulfil his dreams. All his life he has been second to Abheer when it comes to singing, but somewhere he has a quest to be as good as him and become a lead singer. He might not have the confidence to be the face, but he definitely has the talent.” Taking the cue, we ask Suyyash why he was sticking to second lead roles. “To be honest, I did decide on doing only lead roles but when this offer came my way, I just couldn’t say no. I would have regretted all my life had I said no. I received some really good response for my performance in Kaisa Yeh Ishq and I am now looking forward to raising the bar. My fans have also been wondering why I took the second lead, but have faith in my choice and support it,” he replies. How could we not ask him about giving his co-stars tips on singing! He answers sportingly, “Not really, but we do discuss about body language and other stuff. Pearl is like my brother and would give anything to make him a super star. We discuss acting, music, life and everything and are always there for each other.” Wish you luck, Suyyash!
