Popular actress of Bangladesh, Sohana Saba, who will be seen in Shororipu, says that she loves the way stories in Bengali films are narrated.
“I am a film buff and I love to watch Bengali films. I like the pattern of their story telling,” Sohana said at trailer and music launch of the film held in a hotel of Kolkata.
The actress added saying, “Dev is quite popular there (Bangladesh). The TV almost always airs his songs.”
Sohana is essaying a pivotal role in Ayan Chakraborti’s thriller Shororipu.
“I am playing the role of Raka, who uses her beauty as her power. She has a rich husband and a rich boyfriend. Both of them are powerful but in front of Raka their power vanishes,” she said about her character in the film.
When Tellychakkar.com quizzed how did she bag the role, she quipped, “Ayan da was looking for an actress for the particular role. He came to know about me from film festivals and other directors. He saw my works in YouTube and cast me in his film.”
“The audiences of my country have accepted me and I hope people here too will embrace me. After watching the film, they will understand why the director has zeroed in on a Bangladeshi actress,” she added with a warm smile.
The actress, who earned accolades for her works in Dhallywood films like Khelaghor, Chandragrohon, Priyotomeshu and Brihonnola, also shares that she loves to shop from Kolkata and Dakshinapan Shopping Centre is one of her favourite shopping destinations in the city.

Good luck, Sohana.
