Bong beauty Ishita Ganguly, is one of the most lovable stars in the industry. Currently essaying the character of Kamini in Colors’ Ishq Ka Rang Safed (FilmFarm), Ishita is casting her spell on the masses.
The lady, who works hard to keep herself fit and fine, is foodie in real life. Hailing from a traditional Bong family, Ishita loves Bong cuisines, especially fish preparations.
As we chatted with the lady, few days ago, she continued to speak about her love for food. “My mother is a follower of Vaishnavism, hence, she refrains herself from cooking non-veg dishes. That doesn’t become a problem at my home. Though I am only good at consuming food, my little brother is an excellent cook. He knows to prepare almost every Bong dish and he keeps on preparing them and sending the food at my set. Being blessed with such a brother, I wish every foodie sister have a sibling like him (laugh).”
When we asked Ishita to turn culinary experts for us, Ishita happily did so and suggested five Bong dishes that everyone should try.
Here is her list, have a look.
Shorshe Ilish will any day top my chart. Hilsha fish steamed with mustered paste is something every non-veg food lover should try once in lifetime.
After Ilish comes Bhetki Machher Jhal, a fish more popularly known as Asian Sea Bass. The spicy curry of Asian Sea Bass is something that I can die for.
Next I can name a typical Bong dish Chuna Machher Chochhori, a preparation made by small fishes, widely popular in Bengal and Bangladesh.
Like a true Bong I can never miss Chingri Machher Malaikari, special prawn preparations made with coconut milk and flavoured spices.
And, finally, I have cool preparation for all the vegetarians, Alu Posto. Potato cooked with crushed poppy seeds is one dish that I love to have anytime.
I believe that every food lover can of course give a try to these items.
Even we believe dear readers that you all should once taste such wonderful cuisines.
