Stardom and fame are never permanent.
Stepping into the arch light, Pratyusha Banerjee dreamt of wining hearts, and the world, with her bright smile and innocent face. But life is what we have never planned.
The actress who would have been busy preparing for her happening birthday bash today (10 August), is somewhere smiling at us from heaven.
Here is our remembrance for Pratyusha on her birth anniversary.
Slowly and steadily, in the year 2010, the actress stepped into tinsel town with Balika Vadhu. And taking everyone for surprise with her talent, Pratyusha managed become a star overnight.
It looked like fate had planned the best story for this girl from Jamshedpur, but Pratyusha had a habit of shocking us all when we felt that the girl is in her best phase.
While winning accolades for her act in Balika, the actress decided to quit the show to experiment with her roles.
She then found herself in the headlines after she reached the police station complaining of death threats and violence from ex boyfriend Makrand Malhotra.
Post that, she tried her hands in controversial reality show Bigg Boss, wherein the world saw a different side of her. Innocence personified, the girl believed in keeping friends for life.
Bagging the lead in Hum Hai Na and then surprising us by playing the negative ‘daayan’ in Sasural Simar Ka, Pratyusha was doing wonderfully well in her career.
While she was being applauded for bringing a new phase in the kind of antagonist in TV, Pratyusha took us for a shock when she quit the show abruptly citing creative differences.
While she wasn’t being active in her professional space, her personal life was blooming with love after she found a partner in Rahul Raj Singh.
Out of sheer habit, the actress shook the entire industry by taking an extreme step.
On 1 April, this year, Pratyusha was found hanging at her apartment by Rahul.
The industry made a huge hue and cry and her ‘self acclaimed’ friends and well wishers were all over media giving out their anecdotes.
Her boyfriend, Rahul, soon found himself in the clutches of the law after her parents and close friends accused him of abetting the suicide.
And soon started off a long and dirty battle in the court where Rahul cried not guilty and stated that her parents were responsible of mentally torturing her and pushing her towards ending her life.
The case that seemed to become the biggest law mystery in the court fizzled out and is today hanging in the air.
Rahul is missing. The industry has forgotten her. There is no whereabouts of her parents’ condition. She and her memories are gone!
And what surprised her most is that only a handful of her friends from the industry wished her on her birth anniversary. Strange that all the ‘friends’ who cried foul at her death and were ready to fight for her justice have stepped back.
Pratyusha, who had the capability and the charm, to become an actress worth going in the books of history, is today long forgotten and has become history.
All we can say, though you may be the ‘forgotten actress’ today, we do miss you Pratyusha!
