Rajdeep Gupta, who is currently playing the male lead in Star Jalsha’s Jhaanj Lobongo Phool (Shree Venkatesh Films), says that tattoo is an addiction.
The actor’s tryst with tattoo started long back and recently he got his fifth one.
Sharing his tattoo journey with Tellychakkar.com, he said, “I got my first tattoo done long back. I got that just after my high school.”
“I was so excited but I didn’t have much idea about it. I just knew that tribal tattoo looks good so I got a tribal design…and back then mostly the tattoo artists used to do tribal designs of Louis Tomlinson, who was known for his tattoo arts specially tribal designs,” he added.
And then there was no looking back for Rajdeep. He became so fond of tattoos that he went on to create a design for himself.
Remembering the stories behind his next tattoos, he quipped, “Tattoo is an addiction. I started researching online and I sketched one myself and wanted that design too. So, I got my second tattoo on my neck which was my own design…it’s inspired from the Bhimbhekta tribe of warrior Lord Shiva.”
“As I said addiction has no end…later I got a tribal Om on my back. And then to cover and extend my first tattoo, which was not that great according to me, I made a Shiva,” he added with a smile.
Rajdeep’s new tattoo is also interesting and has some significance.
“I got my fifth tattoo recently. I covered my arm with Maori art and a half Mandala. My arm tattoo is not finished yet. I will extend it more the next year,” he said.
What if you don’t like your tattoos after ten years? He replied, “It’s a part of me now. I love them. And ten years…? That’s long. If something of that sort happens I will make one more.”
Interesting addiction, Rajdeep!
