I wasn’t sure about doing Mere Papa Hero Hiralaal: Aasiya Kazi
Aasiya Kazi

Mumbai: Having appeared in shows such as Balika Vadhu (Colors), Bandini (Imagine TV) and Hitler Didi (Zee TV) among others popular ones, actress Aasiya Kazi has been missing from television from the past one and a half year now.

She is now set to make a comeback with 'Mere Papa Hero Hiralaal', an upcoming show on Discovery JEET. Aasiya, who is making a comeback after a span of one and a half years talks about her new show and what kept her busy all this while.

She shares, “Not doing TV was a conscious decision. I want to take a break for a while. I started looking out for new prospects soon keeping in mind not to pick up anything which is run of the mill. I did not want to do a show for the heck of it. I chose to be selective and wait for a good project. I cannot deny the fact that one cannot be too selective about the kind of work he or she wants but, I wanted a project which could help me put my best foot forward in my career. Thankfully, I bagged a project of my interest and is quite different from what I have done so far.”

Aasiya plays a commissioner from Lucknow in the show and her character is grey shaded.

Shedding light on her character, the pretty lass added, “My character is such which will keep switching between positive and negative and that is because it is designed to be realistic. I have never done a show like this, infact, I wasn’t sure about giving a nod to this project too as it would be difficult to justify this character but the producer and the team helped me to cope and yes, I am thoroughly enjoying my stint. This character is such that an actor can justify it in four different ways and the creativity being put to test is a challenge. I am elated on the opportunity I have received to create my presence in the industry.”

Way to go Aasiya!
