Kylie Minogue to perform at Glastonbury 2019

Singer Kylie Minogue, who was not able to perform at the Glastonbury Festival 14 years ago due to her battle with breast cancer, will perform in the Legends slot at next year's event in Somerset.

The "Can't get you out of my head" singer follows in the footsteps of previous performers Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie and Barry Gibb, reports suggest so.

A festival insider said, "Kylie (Minogue) had to pull out of Glastonbury in 2005 just a month before she was due to appear so this performance will be a very emotional and poignant moment for her.

"She jumped at the opportunity to appear next year and it is the perfect way to celebrate her career."

Earlier in July, Minogue also hinted about her performance at the festival saying it would be emotional for her to stand there and perform.

"When I was supposed to do it I think I would have been the first solo female to headline in however many years it was, so I was really proud of that at that time.

"Obviously it didn't happen. So yes, it would be amazing and very emotional to be standing there and doing what I didn't get to do all those years ago, for sure," she added.

Ruby Rose flaunts martial arts skills

Actress Ruby Rose, who is getting ready to play lesbian Batwoman in a new series, showed off her martial arts skills on Instagram.

On Saturday, Rose gave a sneak-peak at her martial arts training, which is likely to be part of her preparations for the iconic role, reports suggest so.

The model-turned-actress looked to be in serious Zen mode as she followed her instructor's every move and instruction.

She is dressed in full martial arts garb that included a robe, matching pants and a black cloth tied around her lean waist.

Initially, the instructor had her working on her arm and wrist strength by slowly lifting a piece of concrete with a stick and rope.

The instructor then went into a number of held positions which Rose captioned: "This part I can do."

Eventually the training turned to some relaxed maneuver that involved breaking a piece of metal in half by slamming it into his arms.

With this the actress wrote: "This part I can not do... yet."

Boyzone would like to team up with Spice Girls

All-men band Boyzone have said they would like to join forces with the Spice Girls to form a super group in the same way as Busted and McFly did when they created McBusted.

Boyzone features Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch, Mikey Graham and Keith Duffy, who are planning to call time on their 25-year career after a final tour in 2019.

Duffy quipped, "We've spoken to the girls - and this is an exclusive - we are going do a SpiceZone, like the McBusted thing. All of them (will do it)!"

The Spice Girls reunion has been shrouded in mystery, with no definite plans in place but Keating believes Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Mel C and Mel B will be reuniting without Victoria Beckham, and even with a reduced line-up, he thinks it will be "great" to have them back, reports suggest so.

He said, "I believe they are getting back without Posh and I think it's great to have the girls back in whatever shape, the music was brilliant, it was a very important time for pop music, Take That, Boyzone and the Spice Girls, and they were a phenomenon, they were huge globally, the movement, girl power, was a brilliant thing so it will be great to have them back."

Meanwhile, the "No matter what" group have promised fans attending their final tour will get to hear everything they want to.

Eva Mendes chooses family over acting

Actress Eva Mendes says that she is reluctant to return to acting because she does not want to be away from her daughters -- Esmeralda, four, and Amada, two.

"I'm just so obsessed with my kids that I don't want to leave them. They're just still so little," Mendes told a leading publication.

She said that parenthood is not always easy but praised her and her partner Ryan Gosling's families for their support.

She said, "I don't feel like I have it balanced at all. I kind of have been figuring it out as I'm going along and it's just important to have a support system. I have my family, I have Ryan's family and that's just like, invaluable to have family around supporting you."

Mendes said she thinks motherhood has made her "care less" but "care more" too.

Cher, Tom Cruise bonded over dyslexia

Singer-actress Cher's fling with actor Tom Cruise began after they bonded over having dyslexia.

"Then a bunch of people who were dyslexic were invited to the White House, and Tom and I are both dyslexic. We didn't go out till way later, but there definitely was a connection there," Cher told Event magazine.

Cher told chat show host James Corden that Cruise was among her top five lovers ever but she refused to divulge any other details, reports suggest so.

Cher said she is currently single and "on the lookout".

Asked if she has a partner, she said, "Not... not this week. I'm still on the lookout. The problem I have with all the boyfriends lately is that I don't want to go any place with them because you can't keep a relationship going in this kind of goldfish bowl, where everything you do and every picture you have taken will be on Instagram. There's no way to keep something special."

However, she still holds a flame for many of her ex-lovers, saying about Val Kilmer, "when we kissed I thought my head would shoot right off my body", calling Gene Simmons, "the one I'm crazy about" and Rob Camilletti, a bagel baker 18 years her junior, "possibly the one true love of my life".

Bieber applying for US citizenship

Canadian singer Justin Bieber, who has sparked rumours of a secret wedding with American model Hailey Baldwin, is applying for US citizenship but wants to remain a Canadian citizen too, reports suggest so.

It quoted unnamed sources as saying that he had deep love for the US and appreciation for the country where he became successful.

He was born in Ontario, Canada, but moved to Atlanta when he was 13. He's been in the US ever since.

Meanwhile, the singer has bought an estate worth $5 million in Ontario.

Underwood learnt one German phrase during hospitalisation

Country singer Carrie Underwood cancelled two festival appearances in the UK last week because she was hospitalised in Germany for three days and learnt one phrase during her treatment.

The "Before he cheats" singer was set to perform at The Long Road country music festival in Leicestershire, England and BBC Radio 2's Live in Hyde Park here last weekend, but officials from her record label announced she had to pull out due to ill health, reports suggest so.

Underwood opened up about her sickness for the first time on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on 13 September and explained that she came down with a viral bug while in Germany.

Australian singer Troye Sivan says that rapper Eminem’s use of a homophobic slur in his latest album "Kamikaze" is inexcusable.

"I don't think there's ever really a reason," the singer told a leading publication.

He added, "I just feel like some words are not meant for everyone, or for anyone. It's not that hard to respect that, so I just hope that people do."

Sivan, who came out publicly as gay in a YouTube video in 2013, said forgiveness for actions like Eminem's is possible, though not without some real work.

"I would like to believe that people can grow and change. I think that repeated behaviour is something that should be taken really seriously... I would love to believe that if the person showed enough genuine remorse and understanding of how they have hurt people and actively made strides to correct that - I would like to believe I can be fine with that person," he said.

Eminem came under fire shortly after the release of "Kamikaze", as one track "The fall" includes the lyrics: "Tyler create nothin', I see why you called yourself a f--t, bitch", in reference to rapper Tyler, the Creator.

He acknowledged that he had made a mistake in an interview, "I think the word that I called him on that song was one of the things where I felt like, ‘This might be too far'."

He added, "Because in my quest to hurt him, I realise that I was hurting a lot of other people by saying it."
