MUMBAI: There are thousands of actors who play supporting roles to the protagonists, give the film a new lease of credibility, and are as, if not more, talented than the main leads. However, they do not receive as much fame and stardom as they deserve. In our Casting Call segment, we present you with some of the most significant Indian television, web, and Bollywood actors who we hope eventually get their due in the future.
Actor Pawan Mahendru has been a part of the industry for three decades now. The actor is known for his roles in shows like Uttaran, Preeto, Pavitra Rishta, and Desh Mein Nikla Hoga Chand and gained immense appreciation for his stint in hit Bollywood film Pink.
Pawan wishes to play comedy roles in the future. He shared, 'Well, I have played varied roles on TV. But I would like to explore the comedy genre in the near future.'
When asked if he believes that TV has evolved, he replied, 'I think both content and the style of working have changed completely. Initially, the decisions were taken by producers and directors, but now, it is all about the channel taking a final call. The drama in the shows is the same and dated, whereas in the past, makers used to experiment. I see originality dying on TV.'
Pawan, who has featured in web-series The Sholay Girl, says that digital is the future. He shared, 'Digital platforms have come like a breath of fresh air. It has become a great platform to showcase talent. I hope to play some good roles on web platforms.'
We wish you a great future, Pawan!
