MUMBAI: Bengali beauty Ishita Ganguly is seen in Shemaroo's show Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain which was launched a few months ago.
The actress is playing the lead role of Chamkeeli in the drama series.
Ishita's character is very different from what we have seen her playing in her previous shows before.
Apart from that, the actress' look is the major highlight in the show and fans are in awe of her.
We all know that apart from doing drama series, Ishita has been a part of several mythological shows in her long career span.
The actress has portrayed the role of Devi Parvati several times on-screen.
Talking about the same, Ishita said, ''Yes, I have played Devi Parvati a lot of times Devi Parvati and I have always said that such characters are not chosen by me, instead they choose me. I am a big devotee of Mata Rani. Since I am from Kolkata, I have that connection. I am very fortunate that I got to play such strong roles several times. Mythological shows have given me a different identity. So, the role of Devi Parvati which I played is not just a character. The Goddess has chosen me to play. I love that.''
When asked about any iconic roles if she would love to play, Ishita said, ''There are a lot as there are too many in my bucket list. Gangubai played by Alia Bhatt, then the one which she played in Highway, Deepika Padukone from Ram Leela, Priyanka Chopra in Aitraaz. Also, Nawazuddin's character from Gangs Of Wasseypur. So, there are many such roles. I hope I get such an opportunity in the movies in the future. Right now, I am really happy that I am playing Chamkeeli. I think day-by-day, the way my character is shaping up is amazing. It is not monotonous. I don't get bored while playing this role. Everyday is a thrill for Chamkeeli. I am very much grateful for this role. I will keep giving my best to entertain my audience.''
