Right now it’s not at all disturbing: YRKKH's Vedika aka Pankhuri Awasthy on receiving hate comments

MUMBAI: Pankhuri Awasthy is a popular TV actress, who has worked in several shows. She is known for her roles in Razia Sultan, Kya Qusoor Hai Amala Ka, and Suryaputra Karn among others. She is currently seen in the long-running soap, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai wherein she is playing the role of Vedika.

Speaking about YRKKH, it is one of the longest running television serials. The show has been keeping the audience hooked to the TV screens with its gripping storyline. It is one of the most loved shows currently on Indian television, and it features Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan in the lead roles. The show’s main leads enjoy an immense fan following. But, of late, their fans haven't been very happy with the current track. In fact, they have begun with the trend #RIPDirectorsKutProductions on social media. The reason being, they were excitedly waiting to see the milan of Kartik-Naira post leap, but writers had a different plan as they have gotten Kartik married to Vedika (Pankhuri Awasthy) and him addressing Naira as his ex-wife that has been depicted in the recent telecast. This has enraged their fans and they are expressing it on social media. Apart from the production house, the other one who is receiving hatred from Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan’s fans is his new wife Vedika played by Pankhuri Awasthy.

So, how is Pankhuri dealing with all of this? In an interview with SpotboyE.com, she said, “I don't know if their fans are trolling me, as I didn't see those kinds of comments. But yes, I came across a few of them where they are saying they didn't like the track, however, I am thankful that they are not crossing their limits this time. As few days back when they realised that Kartik (Mohsin Khan) will marry me and not Naira (Shivangi Joshi), I received so much of hate comments that I can't even tell you. But after the marriage episode went on-air, I didn't receive the kind of hatred I had expected, but yes, they are definitely shocked about it.”

When asked as to how disturbing these comments are, she replied, "Right now it’s not at all disturbing, as I have honestly decided that I am not going to pay much attention to all of this. I am only going to concentrate on my work. Mera jo character hai woh hai. I can't do anything to it as it’s not my call. I just have to do my work. Some people will like me and some others will hate me but I have to respect both sides. Honestly, I cannot do anything about it and I am not even worried. Because all in all, the show is doing well and I just hope it keeps doing well.”
