MUMBAI: SAB TV’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is much loved by the audience. Although every character is adored by the audience in equal proportion, Jethalal’s wife Daya, played by Disha Vakani, was arguably the most adored. We all have grown up watching her say ‘Hey maa, mataji’ and 'Tapu ke papa'.
As we know, the actress who played the role of Daya, Disha Vakani went on maternity leave and did not return to the show. News had it that the actress has quit the show and that the team is hunting for a perfect replacement for the character of Dayaben. However, speculations are now rife again that she is returning to the show.
The current track showcases that Sundar Lal’s promise to bring Dayaban with him from Ahmedabad has cheered everyone up in Gokuldham Society. Mahila Mandal’s phone call to Sundar Lal has paid off, and he has promised not only them but also Jethalal that he will bring his sister along to celebrate Navratri and play Garba with everyone in Gokuldham.
However, is Dayaben returning to Gokuldham reality or just a gimmick to gain more traction that the show is already riding on?
Earlier too, it was touted that Dayaben will return to the show. However, it was later stated that the makers are searching for an apt replacement. And with the former news doing the rounds once again, will we get to see Dayaben returning to Gokuldham Society, thus bringing much cheer to Jethalal, the society members, and us the audience?
