MUMBAI: Rajat Dalal, who became a household name after finishing as the second runner-up on Bigg Boss 18, is once again in the spotlight this time for his bold opinions and no-holds-barred responses.
Known for his fiery confrontations during the show, particularly with co-contestants Shilpa Shirodkar and Karanveer Mehra, Rajat was hailed by fans as the “true mastermind” of the season.
Currently appearing on the reality series Battleground, Rajat spoke exclusively with TellyChakkar, offering a blunt take on Avinash Mishra’s views and shedding light on their ongoing feud.

Avinash Mishra recently supported the Bigg Boss makers' decision to exclude influencers and YouTubers from the upcoming season. What’s your take on his statement?
Honestly, I don’t know who gave Avinash the authority to comment on the casting decisions. That’s up to the creative team and casting directors, not him. If they feel influencers bring TRPs, they’ll bring them in. And if Avinash believes influencers only get selected because of their follower count, maybe he should work on growing his own fan base instead of complaining.
He claimed, “We’ve worked for years before getting this opportunity.” But let’s not forget — Bigg Boss is a reality show, not an acting audition. If you’re calling yourself a gunda inside the house and then step out and become best friends with everyone, then clearly you were putting on an act. I’ve remained the same, both inside and outside the house. Maybe Avinash should stop living in the Bigg Boss bubble.
Also, it’s ironic. He criticises influencers and YouTubers, yet he himself is busy vlogging and posting regularly on Instagram. So what’s the difference, really?
In a video with Kashish Kapoor, you mentioned Avinash, Bhavika and Eisha. Avinash later said you’re using his name for publicity. Any response?
I don’t need to ride on anyone’s name for fame. I’ve always been upfront — I say things to people’s faces, not behind their backs. Inside the house, I was called a gunda, but I never changed my tune after coming out.
In that video, I was anchoring a segment. I was given a script to follow — I didn’t write it myself. If Avinash had a problem with what was said, he should’ve just picked up the phone or said it to my face.
And let’s be honest — he isn’t even that famous. He’s never going to reach the popularity level of today’s influencers or YouTubers. Maybe that’s where this insecurity stems from.
Well, it appears the tension between Rajat, Avinash, and their fellow contestants isn’t dying down anytime soon. With such strong words and unresolved drama, this reality saga may just be getting started.
