Ambika's marriage ceremony in RK Laxman Ki Duniya

Hats Off Productions’ RK Laxman Ki Duniya aired on SAB TV, is based on the works of the famous cartoonist R K Laxman. This sitcom portrays the problems a common man faces in his day to day life and how he, eventually, overcomes them. Currently, Ambika Vasavada, who is of marriageable age, has been losing out on wedding proposals, due to her weight issues. However, a family showed interest in Ambika. To take things ahead, this family visited Ambika’s house. While the audiences were expecting a plump guy coming to see Ambika, however, he turned out to be thin. In fact, marriage is just around the corner, and just like any other marriage, there will be some minor issues during the ceremony. The groom, Pawan Kapadia, is played by Marathi actor Ananda Karekar. His character hails from a middle class family and wants to get married to a fat girl. When Tellychakkar.com contacted Vandana Pathaka, who plays mother of the bride, she said, “RK Laxman Ki Duniya is very close to my heart and each and every day is memorable. And this sequence too was fun to shoot as it is on a humorous note. In Indian society, if a girl is fat and guy is thin, there is a great chance of rejection, but in our show they get married.” We also spoke to Hemali Joshi (Ambika) who said, “Yes, I am getting married in the show and it’s an arranged marriage. The in laws want a fat Bahu, so that the coming generations grow healthy. The concept of wanting a fat Bahu will itself tickle the audience. It was fun shooting for this sequence.” The marriage sequence will go on air tonight.
