Acclaimed director Vishal Bharadwaj hosted a special screening of much-awaited film Thappad starring Taapsee Pannu in the capital yesterday and received a raving response from those in attendance.
Revolving around the life of a woman who files for divorce after her husband slaps her, Thappad gives voice to the suppressed life of women. The echoes of Thappad cane be heard in Delhi, as acclaimed director Vishal Bhardwaj along with Vani Tripathi hosted a special screening in Delhi for media which was attended by the actress Taapsee Pannu and director Anubhav Sinha.
Thappad is an attempt to raise an unflinching question during one incident that leads to the "SLAP" - asking Is a slap, just a slap?. Should Women ignore and let go of the Thappad or fight against injustice. Ever since the makers have released the trailer, it has shook the nation.
