Over the past one year people have adored, danced, laughed, cried and shared every phase of life with him. He has gained millions of fans via his impressive performance and cool look. Who are we talking about? Well, television’s timid and cute lover boy, Shantanu Maheshwari aka Swayam of Dil Dostii Dance on Channel V. “I never thought I will be so popular and receive so much love and affection from people. The feeling is amazing and can’t be described in words,” shares Shantanu with Tellychakkar.com. He further says that acting happened to him accidentally, though his mother always wished that his son would become a star one day. “It was my mom’s wish but I never thought that I will be an actor. I always wanted to be a part of the media industry and thought I will work behind the camera. I participated in Channel V’s India Fest and people from Cinevistaas saw me there and later I was called for an audition. That’s how I got selected.” Dil Dostii Dance primarily focuses on dancing. So what about his dancing talent? “I am not a trained dancer. Though I have learnt dancing a bit but have not specialsed in any form. However, I enjoy Bollywood dancing.” He is popular but tends to shy away from communicating with the media. Reason? “I know I am shy but that’s how I am. I am a little introvert and I take time to open up. That’s how you can describe me.” He might be shy in real life, but when it comes to romancing on screen, he is as good as Shah Rukh Khan, “Yes, I do have many romantic scenes in the show and the entire credit goes to my creatives, director of our show and Sneha (Sharon). Sneha is very co-operative and with her help the scenes become more intense.” On the sets, he gets along with everyone. “I am close to everyone but Nilesh is the closest. We bond really well.” So does he miss Shakti Mohan, who recently made an exit from the show? Does he want her to make a comeback? “I can’t comment whether she should be back or not as it is for the creatives to decide. But she was an amazing person to work with and I definitely miss her.” And what about Kunwar Amar… does he take him as his competitor? “Not at all (laughs). He is like my elder brother and we gel really well. The amount of experience that he has is commendable and I always try to learn from him. I still remember when we met for the first time during the workshop of D3, we clicked instantaneously and bonded wonderfully. And believe me there is no competition on the sets. The ambience is pretty healthy,” ends Shantanu. Well Shantanu, enjoy your stardom!!!
