MUMBAI: Rishi Kapoor’s sudden demise broke everyone’s hearts. He breathed his last on 30th April 2020 after a long battle with cancer. The veteran actor passed away at H N Reliance Hospital Foundation in Mumbai. His funeral took place on the same day at the Chandanwadi crematorium in Mumbai in the presence of family and few close friends. Seen at the funeral, apart from Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, were Abhishek Bachchan, Armaan Jain, Aadar Jain, among others. Rishi Kapoor's ashes were immersed in Banganga, Mumbai, and Ranbir and Neetu Kapoor were seen performing pooja.
Videos and pictures have surfaced online, and they show Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni performing pooja for Rishi Kapoor. They can be seen standing on the steps on Banganga in Mumbai. A video also shows them touching the priest’s feet and taking blessings after the pooja is over. Another picture shows Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Ayan Mukerji looking deeply glum. Earlier, a picture of Neetu Kapoor and Ranbir from Rishi Kapoor’s prayer meet had surfaced on fan pages. The picture from the prayer meet showed Neetu and Ranbir sitting next to Rishi Kapoor’s photo frame, looking extremely sad.
