Here's how the media sensationalized Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide tragedy

Media has sensationalized Sushant’s suicide to the T.

MUMBAI: Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide has left the nation numb and in deep thoughts. Media has been covering every minute detail about the tragedy and needless to say, they’ve gone a little too far in covering the ‘news’. Right from the moment the news about his suicide broke, a large number of media professionals gathered at his residence in Bandra, mind you, we are still fighting the deadly coronavirus and large gatherings are still not permitted by the government. Details from the fruit juice that he had early morning before the suicide to the colour of the cloth that he used to hang himself, everything has been flashed on television screens.

While the media, this time around refrained from any graphical representations on the incident unlike during Sridevi’s death coverage, they did use questionable subtitles to sensationalize the tragedy.

Sub titles like ‘Patna Ka Sushant Singh Rajput Kyu hue Mumbai mey Fail’ to ‘Aise kaise Hit-Wicket hue Sushant?’ flashed on the prominent news channels.

Other set of insensitive slugs used by electronic media includes ‘Filmon Ka Dhoni assal zindagi mey OUT kaise?’ and ‘Sushant itney ashant kaise’.

Media was present at Rajput’s Mumbai residence to cover any movement and every moment. On the day of funeral, rumoured ex-girlfriend Kriti Sanon arrived at the crematorium in her car. The paparazzi gathered near her car and requested her to put down car’s window glass for a clearer picture.

From shoving the boom mike on the faces of already grieving father and relatives of the deceased to flashing the pictures of the actors dead body, media has done it all and how!

Ex- girlfriend Ankita Lokhande visited Rajput’s house recently and was looking quite devastated and disturbed, however, the media didn’t stop even after seeing her in visible stress. They gathered near her to get a response. The actress folded her hands and requested the media to let her go.

Clearly, the media has been an insensitive towards the people grieving the loss and has been cashing in on the tragedy.
