In a conversation with Navbharat Times Online, Shekhar Suman revealed that he can connect with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death because there was a turning point in the life of his son Adhyayan Suman, when he went into depression like Sushant. He said, “Today Sushant Singh Rajput is not with us, but I am able to understand the kind of things that are coming out after his demise, because all this has happened with my son Adhyayan, and it’s still happening today. The way Sushant was first mentally weakened and then he lost films he had signed for ... that's exactly what happened with Adhyayan.”
Shekhar Suman further said that there’s a special group in the film industry that boycotts actors socially and professionally and that messes up with one’s head. He said that it’s a terrible process, that a young talent who is full of confidence is then filled with an inferiority complex in such a way that he feels hollow and weak inside, and eventually breaks down. Shekhar Suman called this process worse than death. He also added that there’s a gang of powerful people in the film industry.
Shekhar Suman also added that the mafia group has tried to destroy him, his films, his work was snatched away and that it affected his son too, but they have to keep fighting, and stressed on the importance of breaking the film mafia group.
