Sushant Singh Rajput's brother-in-law writes heartwrenching memoir

MUMBAI: It has been over a month since Sushant Singh Rajput's demise. The actor's sudden death has left his family and fans heartbroken. Over the past few days, we've seen Sushant's sister Shweta Singh Kirti has been remembering the late actor on social media. She also recently shared a photo of his dog, Fudge, with Sushant's father. Now, the actor's brother-in-law OP Singh penned a lengthy and heartbreaking tribute to the actor. Singh remembered several moments spent with Sushant, watching him grow into the star that he was.

Singh noted that he knew Sushant was an effortless star back in 1995. As reported by BollywoodLife, Singh recalled the time Sushant set the stage on fire with his energetic performance to "Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast." He wrote, "The atmosphere was electric. The occasion was my marriage to his sister, twelve years ahead of him. I instantly knew that he was not ordinary."

He went on to share several more memories before Singh recalled the time Sushant learned about his mother's death. "Then came year 2002. He lost his mother who he loved so dearly. It left him stunned and inconsolable. Turning his eyes away from the body, he hesitated for a while for the last rites. A child’s mind could not think of consigning a body, that he adored as his mother only a couple of hours ago, to flames. But he quickly gathered himself. His usual butter-face turned steely as he calmly lit the pyre," he wrote.

"For weeks, his grins disappeared. Couplets for all reasons and seasons stopped coming forth. The very purpose of his life - to make his mother feel proud of him one day - seemed to have evaporated," he added. Singh went on to share that Sushant picked up the pieces and one step at a time, climbed the ladder of success.

"We, in the family, see him as a warrior prince. He fought bravely. He won famously. In the process, he suffered battle injuries that turned out to be fatal. We love him, so we miss him unbearably. But as a family that believes in value-creation and problem-solving, we assure him that the pursuit of excellence will continue. We see him in the league of Bruce Lee. Living short but making it large!" Singh said.

Have a look.
