Gunjan Saxena The Kargil Girl: Janhvi Kapoor REACTS to CRITICISM she received after Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise

The actress stated that more than anyone else, it was her father Boney Kapoor who was hurt with trolling and flak.

MUMBAI: In the wake of nepotism, star kids like Janhvi Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Sonam Kapoor, Ananya Panday, among others were trolled for belonging to the film family. Janhvi Kapoor again faced the wrath of social media when her latest film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl after nepotism debate reignited after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Gunjan Saxena was slammed for being a nepotistic product, led by star kid Janhvi Kapoor and backed by Karan Johar. During a recent interview when Janhvi was asked how did father Boney Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor react to the criticism she received, she said, her sister dealt with it coolly while it affected their father Boney Kapoor.

Speaking to Film Companion, Janhvi Kapoor said, “My sister is supremely cool and strong, so she is like, 'Just don't give a sh*t, it is fine.' But you have to exercise more sensitivity because there is a bigger thing at play and bigger emotions at play that everyone is dealing with. I don’t want to ever come from a place where I am like, 'Oh, sympathise with me, I am being trolled' because everyone does have their journey.”

The Dhadak actress further stated that more than anyone else, it was her father Boney Kapoor who was hurt with trolling and flak. She further added, "It hurt my father, but he had seen the film (Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl) much before and his belief in my performance and the film was so strong that he was not so affected by the social media situation. There were a couple of days when he was literally stalking me in my house because he did not know how low I was feeling.”
