MUMBAI: Actor Shoibh Ahmed, who played the role of a terrorist in ZEE5’s State of Siege: 26/11, produced by Contiloe Pictures, has bagged another web-series.
According to our sources, Shoibh will be seen in ZEE5’s upcoming series Black Widows. Based on the Finnish drama of the same name, the ‘Black Widows’ deal includes the rights for the two original 12-hour series (24 episodes). The Indian version will be the eighth international remake following versions in Ukraine, Estonia, Lithuania, the Middle East, Mexico, Scandinavia and the Czech Republic.
The series is produced by Namit Sharma and Big Synergy Media Ltd.
As per the reports, Indian Black Widow is directed by Birsa Dasgupta and also features Raima Sen, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Aamir Ali, and Sabyasachi Chakraborty in prominent roles. The show is a dark comedy that tells the story of three best friends who are married to abusive husbands. Disgruntled with their marriage, all three women decide to team up and find a way to kill their abusive husbands. However, their plan fails and one of the three men survives.
The Indian remake of Black Widow will also star Sharad Kelkar, Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Aamir Ali.
Talking about Shoibh’s character, we hear that we will play Raima’s boyfriend who also handles her business.
The cast is currently shooting in Kolkata and expected to further shoot in Mumbai and Goa.
