Shaheer Sheikh willing to play a negative role on-screen

In a recent interview, Shaheer Sheikh discloses on his future plans, on his future experimentations and aspirations as an actor and much more.

MUMBAI: TV star Shaheer Sheikh, who is currently essaying the character of Abir in show Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, opened up on the characters he would like to play in future.

Shaheer has been the main lead of shows like Navya, Mahabharat, Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi and Dastaan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali till now.

Shaheer, who believes in playing one character at a time, wants to do something which is beyond his fans' imagination.

After playing the hero in daily soaps, mythological and historical shows, Shaheer wants to experiment beyond as an actor.

According to our sources, Shaheer said, "I like to play one character at a time and that's why I haven't done anything on the digital platform yet. Now, I have not signed or given commitment to any TV show, so, I will take up any exciting work which comes my way, which can be on a digital platform or it can be a film."

Shaheer also reveals on being open to portray a negative character after playing some heroic characters on-screen as well.

"The only thing I keep in my mind while choosing a character for me is how exciting it is. I would also like to do a negative role if offered. Honestly, the actor feels content when he/she plays something which he hasn't done before. When you do something which is totally different from what you have done in your past. And that is reassuring yourself that you are not just playing yourself but a character."

He also added, "Even if I am doing a negative role, I want to inspire the people in the right way. I have turned down offers before which demanded me to do something which I personally don't believe in. So, even if I play a bad character, the journey has to be like where he gets punished for his wrong doings. At the end of the day, people should get the message that if you do something wrong, it is not okay. As an actor, we have some responsibility. There are a lot of people who get inspired by us and it is our duty to give them the right message."
