MUMBAI: While there are many others who are upset with the low-key Diwali celebrations this year due to Covid-19, actor Arjun Bijlani has decided to look at his in a positive way. The Ishq Mein Marjawan actor says that while they cannot go out or invite many people at home, he and his family will make the most of the festival. “This year we will have a cosy family Diwali celebration. We have a pet dog so we don’t get crackers at home. We will do a Laxmi puja at home and then we will light diyas and also make a colourful rangoli,” says Arjun, who has been part of shows such as Kavach... Kaali Shaktiyon Se, Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil and Left Right Left.
In fact, the actor urges his fans to also not move around much this Diwali. “Everyone should have a low-key Diwali with family only this year. We need to realise that just because everything is open now does not mean that we are out of Covid-19. In fact, the opposite is true. Because people are moving out so much, the chance of getting infected with Covid-19 is really high. We need to make sure that we keep our families safe. It’s important to maintain social distancing as that is the only way we can ensure that we will not be infected. Please try not to rush to sweet shops or other areas where we know there will be a lot of crowd,” he says.
In fact, he is making sure to take precautions this festive season. “I understand that people are fed up now but it is important to make sure to protect ourselves. I also make sure to wear my mask whenever I am out. I make sure to keep a sanitiser with me and spray every surface well before I touch it. These small things can go a long way, I feel,” he says.
